Yes, it definitely looks like a Sceliphron spirifex wasp. I looked it up on Google (including Cyprus) and found the below Youtube video of one collecting mud for its nest. So you may want to check around your house to see if it’s built a nest like the one in the video. (Not sure how you would get rid of it if you have but, on the plus side, they’re meant to be solitary!)

Den där “Bug guiden” är ju obetalbar! Så nu kan du googla vad som helst och får svar på frågorna vad insekterna är för några. En fantastiskt fin bild, men jag skulle inte vilja möta den getingen irl. Den såg riktigt farlig ut. Den liknar absolut inte våra svenska getingar…

Väldigt läcker insekt, jag har fotat någon liknande för något år sedan men aldrig visat. Märkligt med den smala passagen på kroppen. Snyggt fotat!

In my home language, Afrikaans, we call any insect we don’t know what it is a “gogga” … which really just means it’s a bug. But this is a very strange looking “gogga”/wasp.

Gogga sounds like a cute little creature which is a perfect “name” for an insects you don’t know what it is. Interesting and thanks a lot for commenting Corna.
