Bougainvillea

My lovely dogs, they give me headache, they give me joy. They are so similar but at the same time very different. Felicia, one year and four months old still behaves like a puppy. She’s full of energy, she chews on my shoes and toilet paper is great fun to bite into crumbs.
Fanny turns five in July. She doesn’t feel well about constantly moving between different homes, as we have done in the past year. She sleeps a lot, she love to cuddle, she love to be close and she hate the cold. I’m sure she will feel much better once we move into our new home.
We’re there almost every day, to see the progress, and I think she knows, this is where we’ll settle.
Some images from our terrace. Here’s enough space for them to run, play or relax in the sun. Today we went to nearby areas to find places for long walks, we didn’t have to go far. The renovation of the house should be completed by the end of April, that’s when we expect to move in…
….and a happy Fanny will finally feel at home, in our real home.
Then we have no plans to move again, at least not for the next few years, if ever.
It feels like my last post was a bit too depressing so I decided to add some happy color in a new post instead. My colorful bougainvillea is still blooming on our terrace…
…and the color splash that is barely visible in the top image is the color of Fanny’s new coat.If dogs could smile she would do it and if dogs could talk she would tell that she is a happy one.
Malta is Europe’s southernmost state with a population of about 450,000 d. I love this country and I’m more than grateful for being able to live on this small island in the Mediterranean Sea. I’ll try to show you why! This is a typical Maltese balcony and the honey-colored façade is made of limestone, the preferred building material on these islands. Yes, Malta consists of three islands. Note the cables, more or less a mess but it works.
English is widely spoken but Malta has its own language. The streets are usually named in Maltese, which is hardly visible on the first picture, on Trejqet il bajja, but above, on the road sign.
Bougainvillea, my favorite among flowers and you see them growing almost everywhere.
Then we have the climate. Malta enjoys 3,000 hours of sunshine per year which is one of the highest in Europe. The mild winters and warm to hot summers makes it an ideal place to live on. More to come in part 2…
At the moment, I feel quite ambivalent and don´t know what to photograph or why I photograph what I actually photograph. Macro, people, architecture, flowers, my everyday life here in Malta. There´s so much I want to share, but sometimes my posts may looks a bit incoherent. That’s life! Hope you enjoy this anyway.
Cactus fruit and fruit on a palm tree. Edible and non-edible.Fisherman in Spinola Bay, San Giljan.
Fishingboat and a church. Click on an image to enlarge.Tourists, I’m sure they are on holiday here on this beautiful island. Or maby not…
I enjoy taking photographs of others who taking pictures. Don’t ask me why.
Typical Maltese balcony and a beautiful bougainvillea.
