Now that we have settled in Cyprus and closed our business, I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever travel again. There’s much to explore here on the island and I feel satisfied just being here. I go on daily nature walks with my doggies, take photos and I spend hours in our garden. That’s enough for me, at least for now. The other day I turned 64, guess a new phase in life has slowly but surely begun to take shape.
I have always enjoyed traveling and have had the opportunity to go on numerous trips over the years, thanks to our travel agency. I’m not sure if I will ever board a plane again but I can always revisit the places I have been through the photographs I have taken. Today, I went to Singapore after a short trip to the colorful stairs in Nerja, Spain and a stop over in Kuala Lumpur. Sitting by the pool with a feeling of gratitude. Life has had its fair share of highs and lows, but that’s just the way it goes in the roller coaster of our lives. Quoting the Greek philosopher Epicurus:
“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not;
remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”
