The Lens-Artists team invites us to share photos from 2024 that we haven’t yet used in any challenge. I’ve shared very few images this year; the only challenge I participated in was this year’s first LAPC challenge, Favorite Images of 2023. Coincidentally, I’m now joining their last challenge of the year :))
The top image is from a day trip this summer to Agios Georgios Church in Peyia, Paphos, located on the southwestern coast of Cyprus. This is not far from White River Beach, where I went just a few days ago with my dogs. I love being by the sea, especially on weekdays when it’s almost empty.

Insects are truly fascinating creatures, and while some may not look as cute as a bee does, they all play important roles in our ecosystems and have unique characteristics that can inspire wonder.
Cicadas spend up to 17 years underground before emerging and breaking out of their shells. Rhinoceros beetles are one of the largest beetles found in Europe. European mole crickets are rarely seen as they spend nearly all their lives underground in extensive tunnel systems.
Capparis spinosa, the caper bush not only bears beautiful flowers, i’s a very interesting plant that I have written about a number of times. If you are interested, you can find my posts via the search box.
