Finally, the butterflies have started to appear. I’ve been trying to catch this little one several times in the last few days during my morning walks with my dogs. Shame on the one who gives up; that’s a Swedish proverb, and as you can see, I succeeded!

This medium-sized butterfly can be found in gardens and hedges, although not in my garden. 
It is a common and widespread butterfly but I haven’t seen it very often here in Cyprus. 
The males are white with bright orange wing tips. 
The females are white with black wingtips, I guess this is a Small White. 
The orange-tip on the males warns off predators while the lack of this colour on the females mean they are more secretive. Source: butterfly-conservation.org
