Lizards are indeed fascinating creatures, and Cyprus is home to a variety of them! Some common species include the Cyprus Rock Agama, which is unique to the island, and the Mediterranean House Gecko, often seen clinging to walls at night. The ones seen here are all from our garden.
An interesting fact is that lizards play an important role in our ecosystem by keeping pesky insect populations in check. They are very shy and incredibly fast, which makes them great to have in the garden; some, like geckos, are great at helping to keep pests like cockroaches and mosquitoes away.
