It’s always a pleasure to see these tiny butterflies taking a liking to the plants in my garden again. Sometimes they’re even kind enough to stay for a while so I can capture at least a few photos.
And what kind of butterfly is this? Perhaps a Lang’s Short-tailed Blue, or maybe the Long-tailed Blue.
The Lang’s Short-tailed Blue is quite similar to the Long-tailed Blue, both species are found in Cyprus. One key difference is that the Lang’s Short-tailed Blue has more distinct white-lined patterns on the underside of its wings, whereas the Long-tailed Blue tends to have a more intricate, wavy design.
