Summer in Paphos means early starts with the dogs. The sun peeks over the horizon just before six, and I try to go out shortly after. I’ve started bringing my camera again on our morning walks, hoping to catch glimpses of butterflies and other insects for macro photography.
I’m a bit surprised there aren’t more butterflies around; but here you will find a few I managed to capture recently during our morning walks.

A damaged wing is always sad to see.

I no longer try to name them—it’s easy to get it wrong. I leave that to the experts and focus on simply being happy I managed to photograph them at all. As for the ones I do recognize—Painted Ladies and Swallowtails—I’ve spotted them this year, but they’ve eluded my camera.
As some of you may have noticed—redesign in progress! Things are a bit chaotic behind the scenes, but I hope it’ll be worth the wait. Thanks so much for your patience!
