Autumn is still a long way off here in Cyprus, with temperatures around 30°C. But as August gives way to September, some of the plants are already starting to look the part. A few dry seed heads, fading flowers and a touch of colour caught my eye.

The hot summer has made this poppy shed its summer clothes — revealing a whole new look.
