Dragonflies are regular visitors at our fish pond here in Paphos — mostly red, sometimes blue, and always busy. They spend the whole summer darting around like tiny aerial performers, and every now and then one pauses just long enough for a photo.
A tiny master of balance.
Leaning forward with perfect control.
Owning the perch like it’s a stage.
Holding the line with style.
I didn’t know such colorful dragonflies existed. It is a spectacular specimen! The red dragonfly truly looks like an acrobat balancing perfectly on its own stage. 🌟

Great shots Anita. Those two darters (Scarlet and Red-veined) were doing the ‘obelisk’ position to shield from the sun as much as possible.
