It’s been a rather dramatic weekend. My beloved dogs, Sally and Felicia, became seriously ill after eating something poisonous. Sally barely made it; she’s smaller and ingested more of it. Felicia will be coming home today, but Sally still needs veterinary care.

Sadly, this brings back painful memories. We lost Felicia’s mother, Fanny, to poisoning two and a half years ago.

Experiences like these remind us how fragile life can be and how much our four-legged family members mean to us.
