I’m seeing grasshoppers quite often when out in nature. Or perhaps I’ve simply become more observant.
I think this might be a Mediterranean Splendid Grasshopper (Heteracris littoralis).
Not the most colorful insect, but certainly full of interesting details.
Grasshoppers are charming little creatures, and truly impressive jumpers!
This species can be found in Cyprus well into winter, so perhaps I’ll come across a few more.
Hey lady, what’s the idea of disturbing my lunch 😂 Fabulous photos Anita
Haha, caught in the middle of lunch! I hope I didn’t ruin its appetite! 😁🦗 Thanks a lot for your comment, Brian!”
Terrific macro, Anita. The details and color pattern are beautiful.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Egídio.
I can see the “creature” part, but I might need a bit more imagination for the “charming” one! 😂 Fantastic macro work, Anita, the details are sharp! ✨
Haha… I agree! 😁 They may not be the most charming creatures, but they make interesting photo subjects! 📷🦗 Thanks so much for your comment, Aura.
They always seem so determent! 🙂 Wonderful shots!
Thank you, Peter! They certainly have a character of their own! 😁🦗
