The other day, I spotted at least four lizards basking on a small tree. As I approached with my camera, they frightenedly darted away, adding a bit of challenge to the moment. They couldn’t know that I meant no harm, and it seemed like they were having their own little game of hide-and-seek.
A moment reminding us that even the tiniest of creatures experience fear and share the instinctual desire for safety. Vulnerability exists in all living beings, humans included, and we should care more.
