Crimson-speckled Flunkey

The Crimson-speckled Flunkey may be small, but its striking pattern makes it one of the most eye-catching moths I’ve come across here in Cyprus. Yet despite its vivid colours, this tiny moth is easily missed unless you look closely.

Moths and butterflies belong to the same insect order, but moths are usually more active at dusk and during the night.

While butterflies are often associated with bright colours, some moths can be just as striking.
The Crimson-speckled Flunkey is a perfect example.

Although easy to overlook, this moth can appear in surprisingly large numbers in certain regions during favorable seasons.

I had to trash my last post and redo it. I noticed your comment but cannot reply so thanks for looking. Hopefully my WordPress woes are over (for now!).
