Hare’s-foot plantain (Plantago lagopus) may look like just another roadside plant at first glance, but up close, it turns into something far more interesting. During spring here in Paphos, these little flower spikes seem to appear almost everywhere.

As the weeks pass, they constantly change shape and texture, from soft silvery tufts to sculptural seed heads.
What I like most about this plant is how it changes over time. One week it looks soft and delicate, the next full of texture and unexpected shapes. Even the smallest plant can be fascinating and, best of all, there’s always something new to find in nature.
