A place I often return to while walking my dogs is near the communication tower in Koili, located a few minutes from home.
At around 600 meters above sea level, this area offers open fields, pine trees, metal structures, rocks and many paths.
And of course, there is also a diversity of many different kinds of plants and insects to find here.

More often than not, we have the place entirely to ourselves.
On the rare occasions I meet someone, it is usually a local farmer going about their day.

I enjoy the peace and solitude, and every walk offers something different to photograph,
from butterflies and wildflowers to weathered metal, forgotten objects and sweeping views across the surrounding hills.
The area changes with the seasons, but there are always things to photograph. Sometimes it’s a butterfly on a flower or a field glowing with poppies. Other times it’s a rusty gate, a forgotten object or an interesting detail that sparks my curiosity.
This may not be the most dramatic landscape in Cyprus, but it is one of the places I know best.
With my dogs beside me and a camera in hand, it is a place I never seem to tire of returning to.
The slightly cooler air up here is an added bonus during the warmer months.
