A Little Bit of This and That

A Trace of Summer
Still to be found along the paths, even when the cicadas have gone quiet.
———
A few things I’ve noticed while out walking my dogs here in Koili, Cyprus.
No particular theme, just whatever catches my eye at the moment.

Caught in the Web
Waiting for the next unsuspecting visitor.

Left Behind
Or someone’s idea of a bird scarer, stuck in an almond tree?

A Little Prickly
A little texture, a lot of spikes.

Looks a Little Suspicious…
This little creature made me stop and look twice.

A Very Interesting Find
Sally thought she had struck gold.
I had a slightly different view of her treasure.

What a lovely collection of textures and details, Anita! 🌿✨ I love how you find beauty in the simplest things along your walks. 🐾📷

Lite fascinerande faktiskt!

There’s something to see everywhere. Great pictures. 🤣😎🙃

Thank you so much, Mr. Ohh. You’re right — there’s always something to notice out there. I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures. 🌿😄🐾📸

Cicadas look creepy and viscous, when in their armament looking shells. However, when they shed them the shells are actually brittle and flimsy. Lovely pictures, all. And…go, Sally, go!

Thank you so much, Sue. You’re absolutely right — those cicada shells look tough, but they’re really quite brittle once the cicada has left.
And yes, Sally was very proud of her ‘treasure’… even if I wish people wouldn’t leave quite so many “delicacies” out there for my dogs to find.

Beautiful shots, Anita. I especially like the cicada nymph one.

Thank you so much, Michael. I’m glad you liked it — every spring I notice these empty cicada shells clinging to branches and grasses. Such a fascinating little creature, leaving its traces long after its loud song has faded.

You’re welcome. Yes. There are the nymph cases from which the adults emerge.

Exactly — nature leaves such interesting clues behind.

            Always something to explore.

The little prickly image is wonderful. I couldn’t see the last two images. It appeared the image links were broken. Regardless of that, the gallery is very nice. You can photograph common subjects, such as the tin can, and create a beautiful image.

Thank you so much, Egidio. I’m glad you enjoyed the little prickly one. I’m not sure why the last two images didn’t show up for you, but I’m happy you liked the gallery anyway. And yes, even a rusty tin can can turn into something interesting through the lens.

It clearly must have been a temporary glitch on my browser. I was now able to see the photo. Your dog’s photo is cute and funny.

Your thoughts are always welcome
