Late September brings earlier nights and a welcome touch of rain after months of dryness. The landscape changes mood almost instantly, and the dogs seem to sense it before I do. These are a few scenes from our evening walks as the season turns.

On the road, under a restless September sky.
Looking for autumn colours — small details along the way, and a hairy heliotrope still in bloom.

Standing 600 meters above the Mediterranean, looking down at the narrow winding paths we’re about to follow.

At the end of the day, on our way home.
